#3 Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez
Every great centre-half partnerships are built on chemistry and trust. On the pitch, the two have arguably been the best centre half pairing in the league this season, and possibly the best since Carragher and Hyypia. It’s not only on the pitch that the pair have been particularly close but also off the pitch. When Joe Gomez signed a new long-term contract in December the Dutch defender posted a tribute to the young centre half on his social media accounts.
The pair have also appeared on the show Bezzies on the club’s youtube channel which test how well the player’s know about each other. In the video Virgil van Dijk is shocked to find out the Gomez knows who the Dutchman played on his Premier League debut despite not knowing himself. Further demonstrating the understanding they have off the pitch.
#2 Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster
As most footballers will tell you the loneliest time in their careers are recovering from a long-term injury. In most cases, it’s just the player in the gym going through gruelling sessions with one of the rehab staff. It can be tough some days but luckily for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster they had each other throughout the process. In January 2018, Brewster suffered a serious knee and ankle injury which would rule him out until the summer of 2019. Whilst, Chamberlain sustained a serious knee injury which would rule him out for a year. But the pair instantly became close friends and have pushed each other throughout the process. They regularly post on their social media together updating their fans on their progress. Alex Oxlade Chamberlain has recently posted an emotional message on Instagram in which he said " Tough times are always easier when you share them with good people."
#1 Mohamed Salah and Dejan Lovren
The unlikeliest and the winner’s for the best bromance within the squad goes to Dejan Lovren and Mohamed Salah. The pair has struck up a close friendship during their time at Merseyside." From Day one, we felt this connection," Lovren told Copa 90. " We have been talking a lot, we were talking about private things and we have similar backgrounds, a tough life from the beginning." They regularly pick each other to and from training as well as knowing their coffee order. The pair regularly entertains their followers with their social media banter as well as being inseparable during training.
